Although my picks are probably suffering from me not actually having the latest generation and not knowing the pokemon and moves which would fit these lists. So feel free to suggest/add more.

Also, a couple of issues with the pokemon lists:

-What is Marowak doing so high up the Ground list? It isn't THAT great.

-Blaziken probably should have its movelists changed. Ditch Bird and go with something more physical like Powerhouse or some list with Slash. Also, its Fire Starter list should be changed to Inferno Body. Inferno Body is the only list with Blaze Kick, Blaziken's signature attack, unless my Capoeira list makes it in.

-Rhyhorn needs to have the Rhino movelist. Period.

Edit-edit: That's interesting. According to serebii.net, Blaziken has the highest attack power of any of the starting pokemon, followed by Swampert, Torterra, Feraligatr, and Infernape. And its special attack is second only to the Water started in Diamond/Pearl. Nifty!

-Blaziken probably could have its movelists changed. Ditch Bird and go with something more Martial Artsy. It does get things like Slash, Sky Uppercut, and Bulk Up, and it's basically lost the Bird angle by that time.

Yeah, but except for Hitmonchan, every pokemon who gets it is a signature Capoeirista (Blaziken, Combusken, Breloom, Buneary, Lopunny). While you do strike with your fist, the big deal of the maneuver is that you jump so high that you can hit fliers. Sky Uppercut should just go on the Capoeira list and be done with it).

Now, Slash is just plain an outlier. It normally shows up on Lobsters (like Paras), Furious Monsters (like Girantina), Predators (like Totodile), Mice (like Sandshrew), Cats (like Glameow) or Swordsmen (like Farfetchd). It also incongrously shows up on two birds: Torchic and Skarmory. I don't know if that's enough to put it on the bird list, but I could see an argument either way.

One thing to remember though is that Blaziken seriously has access to 77 different moves without even considering breeding. Even if we precisely tailored a move list for him of "Blaziken Moves, More Blaziken Moves, and Even More Blaziken Moves" that would still only get us to what, 48? A lot of moves - mostly TM moves and Move Tutor moves - are going to get junkpiled no matter what we do. And it's not just that we're going to be scrapping shitty options that no one even realizes that they have like using a TM to slap Snore on Blaziken, we're scrapping things that people seriously use because they aren't "iconic" enough or don't fit with the system.

This is the number one suggested moveset for Blaziken for competitive dueling:

~ Fire Blast
~ Superpower
~ Hidden Power Grass / Hidden Power Electric
~ Vacuum Wave / Stone Edge

What. The. Fuck.

You know what isn't going to happen? Like any of those moves ending up on Blaziken's movelist for this project. Well, Fire Blast, and maybe Superpower will end up on it. But Stone Edge? Not a chance in hell. Hidden Power Grass? Yeah, that's so hidden that it's not going to be on the list.

Anyway, went on and made those changes you suggested.

I do think Farfetch'd gets Slash.

Torchic's evolution has some noticeable claws, though--and they do start with Scratch as opposed to Tackle. Every other starter who does that, later gets Slash. And Blaziken does have some nice talons...

Also, I forgot to note that I'd edited the Movelist complaint. Now I'm whining about how Blaziken doesn't get Blaze Kick, another of its signature moves. I know it also gets Fire Punch and Flare Blitz, so Inferno Body is looking pretty appropriate.

Are there any move lists I could go on and put together that are really needed? I was looking at Torrential Downpour's critters. It seems the common denominator for them is Surf and Hydro Pump...But I think I should be more inclusive and use stuff that even vaguely fits the concept.

Hardbody should have Defence Curl added, probably. It boosts defence AND boosts Roll Out.

I *think* Frank was going to put the Fire/Lightning/Ice/Poison Punch moves on Esoteric Martial Arts. Add two more and we've seriously turned that into a full list.

Perhaps chuck Sweep onto the Judo list, as it uses the opponent's weight against them?

Static Touch should definitely have more:
It has Shock Wave, Thunder Wave and Sonic Boom so far.
I'd suggest adding Thunder Shock, Quick Attack, Thunder Fang, Spark and Volt Tackle. Yes I know Volt Tackle is usually Pikachu-only. Now it isn't.

Blaster could *possibly* be expanded with other Beams, not sure if it's necessary.

Solar Power: ...I want to say "Needs moar", but really, that's covered it. "Make it sunny", "Use sun for attacking" and "Use sun for healing".

The others: despite my best efforts I could find no complaints.

I'll alter the list to reflect these being completed. Next on my to-do list:

Mothership, Weasel, Thorns, Baton Passer.

Edit: Okay, added them. Except there isn't a move called sweep. Are you sure you're not thinking of Low Kick?

Interesting fact: There are substantially more fighting type pokemon from Enroth than from Sinnoh. 34 to 25. The Ghost Type was already heading that way when I decided to put the beholders into it. Why? Because they are strong against Spellcasters (Psychics) and Dark Type is getting really full.

Vedic is the special martial arts you get for having an ass tonne of arms. That's why it's on Girallon, Marilith, Machamp, Geriviar, Ragewind, Slaughterstone, Odopi, and Centimani. Those things have between 4 and 100 arms.

Hopefully a movelist for Wraith and Spooky can be hammered out now that there are over a dozen examples of each.

Siege Crab is on as Bug/Water, but where's the Giant Crab!? It'd fit in nicely as a Siege Crab pre-evolution.

Also, Charmander and Charmeleon are listed as having Esoteric Biting Arts. Is that supposed to be Bite Club? E again: So's the Worg, Sphinx, and Remorhaz.

Esoteric Biting Arts are probably just Bite Club. I will change them in time. Similarly, I think that cooler heads will prevail and "Oh,it's a Snaaaaake" or whatever is going to be renamed "Serpent."

Anyway, next project is Dark. And after that, I am going to be doing Rock. Good old Rock, nothing beats Rock.

Right, so, some people have "claimed" Rock, Dark and Ice. This leaves Normal, Flying, Poison and Dragon. If someone else wants to do Flying, that'd be fantastic. I'll do Dragon Next, then chomp on a few more lists.

But while I have the microphone, so to speak, let's look over some things:

1. Stats still start at that 0-4 spread
2. They go up by +3 across the board every level
3. Presumably, a higher valued Pokemon also gets bigger stats
4. Every level you gain (Bigness) HP
5. Initiative is based on Quickness or whatever
6. Presumably the other stats do not affect some other "Not ATT or DEF" thing, but we don't care, because it's not that big a deal and, for any given points value, the numbers will be more or less the same anyway

I put it that high because Marowak can have the highest attack stat in the game. I think it fits at level 15 but if people want to change it I'm not married to it.

Hey I'm typing up the Flying list right now and I just noticed that neither Bird, Air Ace, or Aerialist have Roost in them. Seems a bit odd to me, and I think it should be included in at least one of those. Preferably Bird.

Also, is Garchomp really only a 77? Last I heard he was boosted from OU tier to Uber tier.

Ah, he was, but I'd be surprised if the stuff that made him awesome in competitive battling fully translated to this project. I guess bumping him up to 80-85 would be cool.
